This page explains what personal data masons.cz collects, why we collect it, who works with it, and what your rights are.

Who is responsible for your data

Masons and VertexRent run this rental service together. They are joint controllers of your personal data under Article 26 of the GDPR. You can contact either of them about your data. Send all requests to privacy@masons.cz.

What data we collect and why

When you send a booking request, we collect:

• Contact details: your name and phone number, plus your email and notes if you add them.
• Rental details: the car, the dates, the add-ons, and the insurance package you picked.

We use this data to handle your booking request and to contact you about it. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR — steps needed before entering a rental contract.

Identity check

Before we confirm a rental, we check your identity. The check is run by Didit, an identity verification service, under VertexRent's account. Didit processes your ID document and a live photo of your face. We receive only a summary: your full name, the document type, and the check result.

Who works with your data

VertexRent operations staff process booking requests in the booking systems we share, to prepare and manage your rental. Didit processes identity data during the verification step. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep your data

We keep booking data for 3 years after the rental ends. After that we delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us to show the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, or hand it over in a portable format. You can also object to how we process it. Write to privacy@masons.cz — we answer within one month.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.cz).

Cookies and local storage

Necessary cookies and local storage keep the site running — your language, currency and theme. Analytics and marketing cookies (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) run only after you allow them in the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the Cookies link in the footer.
